Just another video from my eBay parts/repair playlist. Today we have 2 iPods from Mercari. An iPod Classic 5.5 gen and an iPod Classic 7th gen 160gb. Both were listed as broken but it turns out they were fine. The 7th gen alone goes for in excess of $100 so this is a really good deal. The 5.5 gen is also quite rare and has an enhanced audio dac that produces better audio than the standard 5th gen classic and is also worth more than what I paid for it. I wont iFlash mod them as I will never use them. I am a collector and these are just for my collection.

Last time we built an iPod 4th generation with a massive 3000mAh battery and 128GB flash mod, and now today we're putting it through its paces in an all-out battery test.

Both iPods here have been modded in the same way with an iFlash ATA1 and 128GB micro SD card, and they've both been through several full charge and discharge cycles to let the batteries settle in.

Today, we're going one step further and putting a 5,000mAh cell from a literal power bank into the iPod's thicker sibling for even more power!

This repair is generally a 45 minute repair for local customer with appointment. If it has been opened, it takes an hour since we have to vigorously inspect other areas of the iPod and normally have to fix an opening attempt, damage by customer.

Connector for digitizer broke away from the screen and became lodged in the iPod's digitizer FPC connector and was unable to come out completely.

The front camera for an iPod Touch 5 would flicker upon use. There would be streaks of lines through the screen when the camera was active. It turns out that the VCC_Main filter to the camera voltage regulator had no continuity, which was weird since the camera still functioned more or less. With the replaced filter, the camera worked well once again.

Ipod Touch 5 did not have any touch function whatsoever. Upon inspection of the area that handles touch, there was some obvious water damage that had to be repaired.

In this video will show you how to repair the iPod Classic battery terminal. The battery terminals constantly break or fall apart on these devices and are not well-designed. Fix is simple however.

A iPod Video board was in need of repairs for its battery connector.
This video is meant to be more of a showcase and not a tutorial, as each repair will be different.

The Btemp pad and trace was lifted, so a jumper wire is used to make the connection. Without the Btemp connected, the iPod will refuse to charge the battery.
