What if Apple Made an iPod in 2026?

What if Apple made an iPod in 2026? With iPod nostalgia at an all-time high and Gen Z driving a 25% surge in iPod Classic searches, I found the next best thing: the RePod C1. This aluminum case turns your old Apple Watch into a dedicated music player, giving you that classic iPod feel without the smartphone distractions.

This RePod C1 review covers everything: the CNC-machined aluminum build, the satisfying mechanical scroll wheel, the pros and cons, and whether it's actually a practical iPod alternative in 2026. If you miss the click wheel, want a digital detox device, or just have an old Apple Watch sitting in a drawer, this is for you.

**Key Features Covered:**
0:00 – The iPod nostalgia
0:27 – What is the RePod C1?
0:53 – Build quality & aluminum design
1:25 – The mechanical scroll wheel (how it works)
1:56 – Using it as a standalone music player
2:11 – What works
2:24 – What doesn't work
3:28 – Who should buy this
3:58 - The appealing factors
4:12 – Final verdict

**What is the RePod C1?**
The RePod C1 is a CNC-machined aluminum case manufactured by Evinyep that houses a strapless Apple Watch (Series 4 through 9 or SE). It uses a mechanical wheel that physically rotates your watch's Digital Crown, giving you a scroll-wheel experience without needing any batteries or charging. Your watch charges wirelessly through the back of the case.

**RePod C1 Specs:**
- Material: CNC-machined aluminum alloy (milled from solid block, not molded)
- Compatibility: Apple Watch Series 4–9 and SE (NOT compatible with Series 10, 11, or Ultra)
- Controls: Mechanical wheel that turns Digital Crown
- Charging: Watch charges via magnetic puck through case back
- Price: Approximately $59–$69 / €55
- Includes: Aluminum case only (Apple Watch and band sold separately)

**Pros:**
- ✅ Excellent build quality (solid aluminum, not plastic)
- ✅ Strong nostalgia factor (looks and feels like an iPod Nano)
- ✅ Uses your old Apple Watch instead of letting it collect dust
- ✅ No additional charging needed (mechanically driven)
- ✅ Works with AirPods, Spotify offline, Apple Music, cellular calls
- ✅ Sustainable reuse of existing hardware

**Cons:**
- ❌ Health sensors unusable (no wrist contact)
- ❌ Center button inside wheel does nothing (wasted potential)
- ❌ Must still tap screen for selections (no true click-wheel select)
- ❌ Not compatible with newer Apple Watch models (Series 10/11)
- ❌ No fitness tracking while in the case

**Who is the RePod C1 for?**
- People with an old Apple Watch (Series 4–9) gathering dust
- Anyone seeking a digital detox / distraction-free music player
- iPod fans who miss the click-wheel era
- Gym-goers who want a dedicated music device without their phone

**Who should skip it?**
- You need fitness tracking or heart rate monitoring
- You expect a perfect iPod Nano replica (this isn't it)
- You own a Series 10/11 or Ultra Apple Watch

**Final Verdict:**
The RePod C1 isn't perfect. But if you have an old Apple Watch sitting in a drawer, this case gives it new life as a nostalgic, distraction-free music player. In a world of endless notifications, sometimes less really is more.

**Links:**
- RePod C1: https://itechpod.com?sca_ref=11328091.ilP5gd1WpGHeYr5

TK: @techpodrepod
IG：@techpod.official
YT: @Techpod-Official

#Techpod #Repod

Let me know in the comments: Would you actually use this, or is it just a gimmick?
