iPod (2026) | Short Film

In 2026, we have instant access to over a hundred million songs, yet music has never felt more transient. We’ve traded the joy of ownership for the convenience of a rental culture, living inside a padded bubble curated entirely by algorithms.

Following a recent move, I rediscovered a box of my old, forgotten CDs. Instead of storing them away and forgetting about their existence once more, I decided to give them a second life through a refurbished iPod. This short film is an exploration of slow tech, digital decentralization, and what happens when we choose the slow friction of intention over the endless rush of modern convenience.

Behind the Scenes: The Rule of Intention
To mirror the philosophy of the iPod, I wanted the filmmaking process behind this video to be just as deliberate. This is my very first time shooting with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, and I set a strict rule for myself: all manual, and zero reshoots. Every frame, every focus pull, and every lighting setup had to be executed with absolute intention. If a shot wasn't perfect, it stayed in the film. No safety nets. Just raw, focused storytelling.
