iPod Classic Video - No Sound Solution
Description
iPod classic video model a1136 30GB - No Sound Solution
If you are having an issue with no sound from your iPod classic there are a few possible solutions. One could be the headphone jack has gone bad. Chances are if your iPod is still getting sound in one earphone this video isn’t the solution. If you have replaced the headphone jack with a known good one and the problem persists than this video will show you where to look next.
After trying all other solutions you’ll have to remove the identified ic chip and re-ball it. (I have another video showing how to re-ball this particular ic) there is annoying under-fill that will have to be completely cleared in order for the chip to reset properly.
Using a rework station you can desolder and solder the ic chip. In another video I show how to re-ball without a stencil.
Warning: to much heat applied without proper preparation and heat sync can harm surrounding ic chips. This repair is not for beginners. Good luck and successful repairs.
