SHOULD I GET A NEW BACK CASE? OR DOES THIS IPOD DESERVE TO STAY GLUED SHUT?

This iPod put up a massive fight to not be fixed...But eventually I managed to fix it. Several dead screens and 5 months of time later and it's fully functional! I decided to keep the original music (from previous owner) on it. Most of the songs I like and there's 3,500 of them! That's a lot even by todays standards. So it was FREE music?
