Description

In this video I'll be repairing an iPod mini that I've had in my collection for a number of years. I disassemble the iPod, install a new battery, and upgrade it from the original 4GB hard drive to a 32GB CF card.

Also (not shown in video as it occurred after the repair) I had to replace the click wheel with another OEM part because the center button on the original wheel stopped responding. I reflowed all of the contacts with fresh solder/flux, but that didn't fix the issue. The cable connecting it to the motherboard must have broken somewhere, but I thoroughly inspected all of the traces and found no damage anywhere. The new wheel/cable works fine and is in better condition so it turned out all right.
