Description

The classic 'iPod with Click Wheel'—the 4th Generation 20GB model—gets a major, modern upgrade today!

In this video, I take a deep dive into the teardown, repair, and modification of this iPod icon. It's a satisfying restoration process as we replace the ancient, degraded HDD and battery with modern components to bring it into 2026.

The Mod List:

???? High Capacity Battery: Swapping the stock battery for a heavy-duty modern replacement for incredible playback time.

???? iFlash SD Upgrade: Goodbye noisy fragile HDD, hello flash storage! Upgrading this unit to 60GB using an iFlash adapter and SD card for faster load times and better reliability.

???? The MAGSAFE Mod: My favorite part! I’ve integrated a MagSafe-compatible magnet ring into the classic back case so it can now work seamlessly with modern MagSafe accessories and mounts.

All parts I purchased from Elite Obsolete Electronics (not a sponsor).

If you love vintage tech restoration or are looking to modify your own old iPod, this is the build for you.
