The Hardest iPod to Fix? I Had to Freeze It! – iPod Nano 5G Full Repair.
Welcome back to the TechKingdom. In this video I show a full iPod Nano 5G repair, including swollen battery removal, resoldering the battery management board, and restoring one of the hardest iPods to fix back to life.
This iPod Nano 5th generation came to me with a swollen battery all the way from Japan. This is often considered one of the hardest iPods to repair. In this video, I’ll walk you through the full repair process — including a strange step where I had to freeze the iPod to shrink the expanded battery just to get it out!
Along the way, I also had to resolder the battery cell management board and deal with the tight internals that make this Nano so notoriously tricky to fix. In the end, it turned out way better than I expected, and the Nano is fully restored.
If you’re into retro tech repairs, iPod restorations, or just love seeing old gadgets brought back to life, this one’s for you!
